PT Sumberdaya Sewatama (Sewatama) is once again taking a strategic step forward. This time, the company has officially partnered with the Politeknik Negeri Banjarmasin (Poliban) as a concrete realization of the Link & Match program between industry and educational institutions. The signing ceremony took place at Poliban's Multimedia Hall on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, marking an important milestone in the company's ongoing effort to build a workforce that is not only technically competent but also genuinely ready to take on the real-world challenges of the workplace.
For Sewatama, Poliban is a strategic ally in raising the bar for skilled human resources. With a strong curriculum focused on power generation, the polytechnic's programs are very closely aligned with the company's business needs, especially in the power plant segment.
"We see Politeknik Negeri Banjarmasin as having huge potential to be a strategic partner in creating talent that is not only academically competent but also industry-ready," said Aryamir Rahmanto, Business Support Division Head of PT Sumberdaya Sewatama. "Through this partnership, we want to give students real hands-on experience while also identifying high-potential individuals who can grow and thrive with Sewatama."
This move is fully in step with the spirit of the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (Freedom to Learn – Independent Campus) policy introduced by Indonesia's Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The policy puts a strong emphasis on creating a true link and match between university graduates and the business and industrial sectors.

The MoU signed by Aryamir Rahmanto as Sewatama's Business Support Division Head and Joni Riadi as Director of Politeknik Negeri Banjarmasin. Also present were Poliban's Vice Director III, various department heads and program chairs, as well as Sewatama's management team, including Temmy Hanafi (Operational Division Head), Azis Ritsqi Sulaeman (Operational Excellence Department Head), and Jessica Irene (Human Capital Strategy & Development Department Head).
A Public Lecture from Sewatama
The collaboration didn't stop at the signing ceremony. The event continued with a public lecture delivered by Temmy Hanafi. In an interactive session, Temmy shared insights on how students can best prepare themselves for the working world, while also giving them a realistic picture of the work environment and corporate culture at Sewatama. The goal was to make sure students walk away with more than just textbook knowledge; they now have a clear sense of what the industry actually expects from them.
As a deeper demonstration of commitment, the Sewatama team also toured various learning facilities at Poliban, guided directly by campus representatives. The group visited the electrical engineering lab, the certification testing lab, and other supporting facilities. The tour wrapped up at the heavy equipment workshop, where a Caterpillar generator set unit is used as a hands-on training tool for students.

Through this collaboration, Sewatama and Poliban aim to build a lasting synergy between the industrial and educational worlds. For Sewatama, this is a long-term investment in securing a steady pipeline of quality human resources. For Poliban, it's a golden opportunity for students to sharpen their skills right on the ground. All of this goes to show that this partnership is far more than just a signature on paper; it's a genuine commitment to shaping the future of Indonesia's power generation sector.
