You’ve probably seen the resilient orange-clad woman carrying a generator in various Sewatama communication materials. She is not just a visual ornament; she is ASAKO, the new icon designed to strengthen Sewatama’s risk-aware culture.
ASAKO, short for Aku Sadar Risiko (I Am Risk-Aware), was officially introduced on January 31, 2025. Her presence marks an integral part of Sewatama’s key strategy to ensure that Risk-Based Thinking becomes the foundation of every operation and every decision-making process across all levels of the organization.
Drawing from the ideas of sociologists George Herbert Mead and Herbert Blumer, Sewatama recognizes that symbols hold the power to shape shared meaning and collective values. ASAKO was created as a symbol of vigilance, a source of inspiration, and a motivational driver for all Sewatama employees. Her purpose: to foster a proactive and risk-conscious work culture throughout the company.
Why is this icon represented as a woman? Numerous studies have shown that women often embody resilience, independence, and selflessness. These very traits form the rationale behind portraying ASAKO as a woman, someone who represents strength, awareness, and an unwavering commitment to responsibility.
In every appearance, ASAKO is accompanied by the tagline “thinQRisk.” This serves both as a call-to-action and a constant reminder of the importance of Risk-Based Thinking. This approach integrates the assessment of risks and opportunities into every stage of the decision-making process.
The emphasis on the letters Q and R refers to the QR Code that directs employees to ARMS, Sewatama’s digital Risk Management platform. ARMS facilitates integrated reporting, monitoring, and documentation, ensuring that the company’s risk management processes remain measurable, structured, and efficient.
Through ASAKO and the thinQRisk initiative, Sewatama reaffirms its commitment not only to delivering the best energy solutions but also to creating a safe and dependable work environment. This is how Sewatama ensures that its promise of quality and safety is consistently upheld for all partners, clients, and employees.
