"Man Jadda Wajada." This Arabic adage, meaning "Whoever is serious will succeed," is more than just a slogan; it is the driving spirit behind the work ethic of the Sewatama Kupang Team. This proverb serves as a constant reminder to all field personnel that persistence in facing operational challenges will never betray results.
It was this strong conviction that propelled the Sewatama Kupang Team representatives forward. Starting with an achievement at the internal Sewatama Improvement Culture (SIC) 2024 event, where they secured 3rd Place in the Improvement Project category, this spirit was carried into a larger and more prestigious arena: the Mahadasha Improvement Program (MIP) 2025.
Seamless Synergy: Kupang Site and Head Office
This achievement is the result of a long journey in resolving critical, real-world field issues. The improvement initiative began with a technical finding concerning a crucial component: the rupture disc. While technical, the team understood that failure to handle this issue posed a fatal domino risk to the corporation, including potential contract penalties, noise issues that could trigger community protests, and warnings from regulators and customers.
This situation was a true test of the team's humanistic qualities and professionalism. The resolution was not a "one-man show," but the outcome of close collaboration that served to introduce the capabilities of local Kupang personnel to the Head Office (HO) in Jakarta. The process included:
1. Analysis and Discussion: The submission of findings (STR) was followed up with strategic discussions between the Site Team and HO to formulate corrective measures through the refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (IK), and the Permit To Work (PTW).
2. Effective Stakeholder Management: The biggest challenge was securing the Permit To Work (PTW) from the customer. The team demonstrated flexibility by adjusting the schedule to align with the readiness of the Timor Electrical System Power Balance.
3. Proactive Communication: The team consistently performed follow-up and updates on the repair plan with PLN UP2B NTT during the weekly and monthly Operational Plan meetings.
These tactical steps ensured that the work was executed safely, according to plan, and minimized negative impact on the company's image.

Achieving Excellence in the Mahadasha Improvement Program
The opportunity to represent PT Sumberdaya Sewatama in MIP 2025—a competition among companies within the Mahadasha Group—provided a major impetus for the team to sharpen their analytical skills and innovation.
The team's dedication to implementing a culture of continuous improvement ultimately earned the highest recognition. The Sewatama Kupang Team successfully secured the “The Best Impact MIP Award 2025” at the MIP event held on Tuesday, December 9th. This award proves that initiatives originating from sites far from the central office can deliver strategic impact acknowledged at the group level.
Sustainability: More Than Just an Award
For the Sewatama Kupang Team, it is hoped that the SIC Award and MIP Award events can continue sustainably. Performance improvement is viewed not as a temporary goal, but as an ongoing journey of adaptation to the constantly changing dynamics of the industry.
The positive impacts targeted by the team through this improvement culture include:
1. Increased Efficiency: Optimization of work processes to minimize wastage.
2. Culture of Innovation: Providing a platform for every employee to implement fresh ideas to enhance the company's performance and competitiveness.
3 Solid Corporate Performance: The belief that micro-improvements at the individual and team levels will collectively lead to macro and significant improvements in overall corporate performance.
Profound appreciation is extended to the Management of PT Sumberdaya Sewatama for the investment provided through the Sewatama Improvement Culture. The hope is that every small step of improvement taken today will ensure the company continues to Grow Strong and Adaptive in the future.
